Life changes, why not change with it?
The first step in experiencing a positive shift in the direction of life fulfillment requires a change in thought patterns. The next step to make positive change a reality requires redirecting habitual modes of action in the world. Present experiences are the result of past thoughts and actions. Future experiences are determined by our present thoughts and actions. Rather than bemoaning current conditions, energy is put to better use to assure the future will be better by changing thoughts and actions to reflect a desired result.
Many people use creative visualization or other techniques to clear blocks and direct their life experiences in a positive manner. Doing this creates the potential for experiencing what is desired. Where there is potential, there is the possibility of experiencing what is desired. Then actions must be taken to bring the potential into reality. Not following thought with action is like planning out a very beautiful garden and then hoping that it will magically manifest without putting forth any effort. The garden will appear more quickly when beds are dug and flowers planted based on the previous planning.
…on a side note…I announced to my band tonight that Melissa and I would be moving to Asheville, NC at the end of the year. They took it well, although were a bit sad about the end of the band.
Tonight was one of the best practices we’ve ever had. It was really a spiritual experience. Half way through a song I realized how good it was sounding and the thought occurred to me, that maybe we are playing really well tonight, because we all know “we aren’t getting out of this alive”, meaning the band (as a cohesive unit) will die (disband) in the future for certain, which was not a certain thought previously. That brought an awareness about life…why not play your best, because no one is getting out alive. Why waste that? Holding yourself back just wastes your life. You’ve got to spend it all anyway, right?
